A cupcake bakery in Boston.
I had the mint chocolate chip and birthday cake. I’d say they were alright…lots of fun flavors and beautiful presentation!

THE SOPPRESSATA
Sounds fancy right!? WELL IT IS. Fancy pizza.
I was SO excited when I found out a new spring/summer food truck schedule was coming out. For the longest time, this shitty asian food truck called “Savory Food Truck” came 3x a week. Now, Savory is GONE and this new schedule is so bomb. Hello to Summer of 2015, the summer of being broke and fat.
So after jumping for joy, I ventured outside to the truck. No line. YES. Wood fired oven- CHECK.
The menu is mostly pizza and they all sound delicioso. I ordered the Soppressata- spicy salami, mozzarella cheese, tuscan pepper, oregano, arugula, and parmesan. It was delicious as expected. And as a no-crust-pizza-eater…I ate the crust. It was perfectly cooked, yummy, warm, and soft with just the right amount of dough.
For dessert, I had a cannoli. A cannoli is a cannoli. It’s yummy and I immediately got the itis after eating it.
Next week I think I’ll order the Mushroom.
Check out Posto’s site here. Their restaurant is located in Davis Sq. Somerville.

These shrimp tacos were pretty decent. The shrimp wasn’t over cooked or over fried and had a nice kick to it. Also, the fresh guac from this place is YUM. That is all.
Yoki, which was once my favorite sushi bar, has been around for a few years. I’ve had my ups and downs with this restaurant.
The service is always consistent and great, but sometimes I feel the quality of the sushi varies. Sometimes its wicked tasty, sometimes it’s not.
I typically order the good time (philly) maki, boston maki, idaho maki, rock & roll maki, and edamame. Occasionally shrimp tempura or spicy salmon. However, this time we decided to order something different and on the pricier side.
THE HAWAII MAKI
Shrimp tempura maki topped with fresh sliced tuna and a mixture of tempura flakes, spicy mayo, crabstick, and tobiko. Glazed with pineapple sauce and topped with pineapple. Sprinkled with dry parsley.
THIS WAS SO GOOD. This must be what heaven tastes like. You get the crunch from the shrimp tempura, the creaminess of the tuna, crab, mayo, & pineapple sauce, and a burst of fresh sweetness from the pineapple chunk. I will now be ordering this every visit I make to Yoki until I am sick of it.
Another item that is to die for is their Green Tea/Vanilla Tempura Ice Cream. This “fried” ice cream is LEGIT. None of that cereal corn flakes crap. It is one large ball of frozen ice cream that has a layer of fried batter tempura goodness. On the side is some whipped cream, fruit, and a little chocolate syrup. Yoki’s alcoholic beverages aren’t bad either.
You can check out Yoki’s website and full menu here.
They have locations in Medford and Cambridge, MA.
This is a sequel to my post NUNCH- The Nun Brunch.
The event was fabulous, fun, and filling.
This was my full and piled plate; a quarter of it eaten (I was so hungry I couldn’t wait). The buffet was AMAZING. Club Cafe had your typical breakfast items (bacon, sausage, egg, french toast, etc.) but also some smoked salmon, bagels, fruit, pastries, fried chicken, roasted chicken, salad, and potatoes three different ways. First I washed it down with a cup of coffee followed by a mimosa.
This guy performed a few songs including “Valerie” and I loved it.
Then the Sisters came out for a few performances and speeches!
There were tears. There was laughter. There were lots of food, prizes, and make-up.
Can’t wait for the next event!
Lir- An Irish Pub down in Back Bay on Boylston.
This was the burger I got. It was meh, kind of disappointing. I ordered it cooked medium, but it was more like medium-well and a little dry. The onions weren’t very caramelized at all. When put together, the burger was at least 6″ or taller. Definitely couldn’t get it all in a single bite. The bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato and my imaginary BBQ sauce were good though. I ended up using that to make my own lettuce wrap; ditching the burger.
The waffle fries were pretty good, I’d say the best thing about this meal. My blue moon tasted like, well, blue moon. It was a tad warm, if you like warm beer. Our nachos were alright, but that’s hard to mess up. Perhaps I should’ve stuck with mac and cheese?

On every Tuesday of the week, Bon Me Food Truck stops by my work for lunch (lucky me). They serve vietnamese cuisine- which includes viet subs, noodle salads, and rice bowls. Bon Me also serves some viet beverages and deviled eggs that you can add to your meal! I haven’t had any of the beverages, but I can tell you about the food.
Having had a viet sub before, I couldn’t resist as I first tried Bon Me. I ordered the Chinese BBQ Pork sub with pickled veges, sans cilantro (not a huge cilantro fan, I know I know). It was everything I ever wanted and more. The best part about it is the perfectly toasted sub roll. However, since that first day, I feel like the sub was never up to par as compared to the previous one. Sometimes the pork was dry
I’ve also had the noodle salad and today tried the rice bowl. LOVE. My favorite meat to get with it is the miso shredded pork, cause you can really mix it all together and gobble it up. The salads/bowls come with your meat of choice & dressing, a little lettuce, bean sprouts, and pickled veges. I usually top it off with the sesame seed dressing. I feel as though the noodle salad is great on a hot summer day because the noodles are cold and it is refreshing. The rice bowl is perfect on a chilly day because it is nice and warm.
